Objects of Time. Curated Boldly
Super cool Tudor Submariner ref. 79090 from 1991 in stunning condition — unpolished, recently serviced, and complete with box & papers.
Alongside classic vintage features like the acrylic crystal and matte dial, the 79090 has always been a favorite among tool watch enthusiasts for good reason. The thin 40mm stainless steel case, lightweight folded-link Oyster bracelet, and robust Tudor/ETA movement make it one of the best everyday vintage divers out there.
Specifications & Condition:
The 40mm stainless steel case is unpolished and remains sharp and even throughout, with noticeable scratches on the top right lug. The bracelet is also unpolished, showing only minor stretch. The matte dial has a perfect surface with attractive light cream lume, while the hands remain in great condition. The Tudor/ETA movement has been freshly serviced and is running perfectly. This watch is accompanied by papers dating to 1991.
Notes:
This is my first 79090, and I’m glad it’s in stunning condition. I’ve been looking for a Tudor Sub for the collection, and this one might actually be too perfect — I tend to prefer them with a bit more patina and character. But that only comes from wearing and enjoying the watch over the years, and I’ll leave that part to the next caretaker.
Editor’s Selection:
A killer Rolex Datejust from 1973 featuring a very attractive satin blue sigma dial. Being a ref. 1603, it comes with the steel engine-turned bezel — subtler and sportier than its white gold sibling. The shade of blue is unmistakably four-digit Rolex, a tone you simply won’t find on later iterations. Now available!
Condition report:
The stainless steel case is sharp and even, showing light previous polishing. The bracelet is in great condition with minor stretch and wear. The dial is in great condition overall, with very subtle spotting visible under certain angles, which is normal for blue dials of this era. The white gold hands and hour markers are in great condition.
This watch has not undergone recent service but is running perfectly on the timegrapher at +/- 5 seconds per day with 240 amplitude.
A stunning Rolex Day-Date ref. 18038 from 1983. Excellent condition all around, featuring elegant Roman hour markers with just enough romance. Warm lume plots and an extra sharp case complete the look. Now available!
Specifications & condition:
The solid 18K yellow gold case is in excellent condition with only very light previous polishing, paired with a bracelet fitting up to a 7.5-inch wrist and retaining a matching 1985 clasp code. The white matte dial is perfectly preserved, featuring full lume plots aged to a rich warm tone with perfectly matching hands. Recently serviced and accompanied by a 1-year mechanical guarantee, along with a 48-hour inspection period upon delivery.
