Rolex Day-Date ref. 1803 from 1972

$11,000.00
Sold Out

A classic Day-Date from the early 1970s. Simple in essence, yet fitted with a rather special dial. This example features a no-lume dial variant, a configuration more commonly seen in the Asian market. I've always liked these dial variations, as they offer a cleaner, quieter presentation. Additionally, this example retains an honest, unpolished case.

Condition & Specifications:

The 36mm solid 18K yellow gold case is in unpolished, unmolested condition. It shows scratches throughout, along with a deep scuff on the bezel near 7 o'clock. The movement has been freshly serviced and is keeping excellent time. The dial and hands are in perfect condition. A 48-hour inspection period is provided, and returns are accepted during that time.

Notes:

This is one of the most honest Day-Date Ref. 1803 heads I've had in months. While some collectors prefer a solid gold Rolex with perfectly smooth surfaces, I decided to leave this one exactly as it is. You can appreciate the sharpness of the case every time you put it on or take it off. The flawless no-lume dial contrasts beautifully with the honest wear on the case, Definitely a cool head.
