Tissot Janeiro Ref. Z199 from 1996

$3,000.00

A beautifully executed neo-vintage chronograph inspired by the iconic multi-scale chronographs produced by Tissot during the 1930s. Rather than being a faithful reissue of a specific vintage reference, this model captures the spirit and design language of the era while incorporating modern proportions and materials.

Although the dial features a matte black finish instead of the glossy gilt found on many original examples, the warm golden printing beautifully evokes the character of early chronograph dials. The combination of the slim flat bezel and high-domed plexiglass crystal gives the watch a distinct look . Powering the watch is the reliable ETA 7765 manual-wind chronograph movement.

Condition & Specifications:

The 39mm stainless steel case measures 44mm lug-to-lug and remains unpolished, retaining its original protective caseback sticker. The matte black dial is in flawless condition. It is fitted it’s factory Tissot black leather strap and will be supplied with its original stainless steel Tissot buckle. The movement is running accurately on the timegrapher, and a 48-hour inspection period is provided.

Notes:

This watch was sourced in Geneva from its previous owner, who had carefully preserved the original straps, buckles, and wooden presentation box. Unfortunately, the box had deteriorated beyond practical use and was not retained. The watches themselves remain in virtually unworn condition.
