Rolex GMT-Master Circa 1984
Top condition on this Rolex 16750 from 1984. Normally, I tend to lean toward four-digit Rolex references as a collector and seller, since I find the dials on those pieces more appealing. However, being a transitional GMT, this 16750 stands out — it features a gorgeous tritium matte dial paired with the upgraded movement.
This example came from Central America and showcases a perfect dial with subtle, even patina and a beautifully faded Pepsi insert. There’s something undeniably special about vintage GMTs — the vibrant colors make them a joy to wear, and this one in particular strikes a perfect balance: rugged construction, upgraded movement, and the best vintage traits — a plexiglass crystal and a matte dial. Now available!
Case & Bracelet:
The stainless steel case shows no evidence of previous polishing and retains its thick lugs with visible chamfers. It comes fitted with an Oyster 93150 bracelet with 580 end links. This bracelet includes a diver’s extension and double-lock clasp, a feature more commonly seen on Submariners but also available as an option when purchasing the GMT-Master during the 1980s. The bracelet remains unpolished and has a matching clasp code. The red-back pepsi insert has aged gracefully and is great condition with normal wear.
Dial & Hands:
The black matte dial is in stellar condition with no visible stains or imperfections. The tritium hour markers have aged to a pleasing light yellow tone, while the hands show a slightly lighter hue. Both dial and hands react correctly under UV light.
Guarantee:
This watch is keeping excellent time. Service history is unknown, but a timegrapher reading has been included as a courtesy.
