Rolex Daytona Circa 1967

Beautiful and honest Rolex Daytona from the late 1960s.
The silver sunburst dial contrasts perfectly with the black subdials, also known as a “panda” dial. The Daytona was initially introduced in 1963, and early examples did not feature the “Daytona” text on the dial. Later in production came reference 6239 with exotic dials, commonly known as Paul Newman dials.

This reference features pump pushers and a stainless steel tachymeter bezel. Over time, these elements evolved across different references, transitioning to screw-down pushers, bakelite bezels, and varying dial configurations and text colors.
Now sold.

Case & Bracelet:

The stainless steel case is in great condition, showing thick bevels and sharp edges. The 7205 bracelet features the correct 71 end links, with a clasp code dating to 1969.

Dial & Hands:

The silver sunburst dial shows wear around 3 o’clock and along the edge at 7 o’clock. The hands have aged to a lighter tone, and the lume is uneven across the hour markers.
