Rolex GMT-Master Circa 1978
Late-’70s Rolex GMT-Master 1675 — my all-time favorite reference.
Among Rolex’s 4-digit sports models, the Submariner often gets the spotlight, but for me, the 1675 is the true standout. Few watches age as beautifully — the matte dial, red GMT hand, and blue insert create a combination that’s effortlessly iconic. The slimmer case profile makes it a joy to wear, whether daily or on the occasional trip abroad.
Case & Bracelet:
The stainless steel case retains sharp, well-defined lugs and bevels. The bracelet fits up to a 7.5-inch wrist and features a period-correct 1978 clasp code.
Dial & Hands:
The black matte dial is in impeccable condition, free from damage or spotting. Lume plots and hands have aged evenly, developing a warm, harmonious patina that perfectly complements the watch’s vintage character.
