A gorgeous gilt-dialed Universal Genève Polerouter, one of the great designs by Gérald Genta. The twisted lugs wrap around the wrist almost magically, giving the watch a beautiful and comfortable presence. This example appears to be in the early stages of becoming tropical; to the next discerning owner, I would wear it daily and let the dial slowly develop that subtle tropical character. It’s amazing to find examples like this still in such untouched, original condition.
The stainless steel case is in great, unpolished condition. The twisted lugs are sharp and prominent, and the caseback text is deep and clearly visible. It is fitted with a period-correct JB Champion bracelet.
The gilt dial is in excellent condition, showing no damage on the surface. The hands have lost their original lume tone.
